Thank you for visiting Victoria Akbik Photography; a hobbyist lifestyle photographer now based in beautiful Warwickshire, England. My tagline is “Capturing moments to celebrate Love, Light & Life…”, and quite simply, that’s what I aim to do.
Celebrating Abu Dhabi – the city that was my home for over 10 years…
Meaning ‘Land of the Gazelle’ in Arabic, Abu Dhabi was founded when a young antelope led a wandering tribe to fresh water, on an island with no more than 300 palm huts, a few coral buildings and the Ruler’s fort. This simple island settlement has since been transformed into the modern, cosmopolitan city of Abu Dhabi and the high-rise capital of the United Arab Emirates.
I wanted a gallery on my website to place the photographs that I feel are celebrating Abu Dhabi; its modern daily life, views and events, as well as touch on exploring Emirati culture and history. I love living here and enjoy getting out & about to showcase my lens-eye view of stunning Abu Dhabi with its varied people, cityscapes, landscapes, beaches, skies & deserts. This is just a limited selection that I will update from time to time… I hope you enjoy my small homage to the place I was lucky enough to call home!

Formerly based in Abu Dhabi running my own photography business, I relocated back to my native England in the Summer of 2017. Now I’m based in beautiful Warwickshire, and I still specialise in natural light, on location lifestyle photography to capture love, light & life through my lens.
For me, photography is an essential way to preserve priceless memories and freeze moments in life. Time is all too fleeting and before we know it, the years pass by and we look back and wonder where the time went. We can’t stop time, but maybe – if I had a superpower – that is what I’d wish for. Our best chance is to document our lives so we have a window into our past that we can visit whenever we like. I find so much joy in using my skills to create priceless memories for others. It challenges my mind and breathes energy into my soul. I celebrate freezing those moments to capture not only the big picture but also the beautiful details and time-capsule minutiae, to celebrate the love and connections within family and kinship.
